For a number of years, the Women’s Ministry of ICGC – Precious Vessels of Virtue (PVV) – had been supporting the Osu Children’s Home in various ways. On one of their visits to the Home, the leadership of PVV pledged to lead an effort to build a boys’ dormitory to ease the accommodation problem confronting the Osu Children’s Home.
As a follow-up to that pledge by PVV, a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a 2-storey boys’ hostel for the Osu Children’s Home was performed by Dr. Otabil, General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) on 28th November 2005.
The Twenty-Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc 20,000.00) project was completed in October 2006 and officially handed over to the Department of Social Welfare on 26th February 2007 which marked the 23rd anniversary of ICGC. The handing-over ceremony was performed by Dr. Otabil.
The hostel was fully furnished and equipped, and had facilities such as a Dormitory, E-learning Centre, Dining Room, Staff Flat and a Sick Bay, among others
