Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.
2 Thessalonians 3:16
We don't live in a peaceful world. Most people don't have inner peace – they struggle within themselves for acceptance, love and significance. Not only do we lack inner peace, we also lack external peace - you only have to take a look at the news headlines to remind yourself of the turmoil that our world is in.
Our neighbourhoods have become dangerous playgrounds for drug peddlers, rapists and armed robbers. The classrooms are not any safer as our children are faced with abusive teachers and school staff. Our homes are ravaged with domestic violence, bitter insults and divorce.
There has always been fighting between nations; it is one constant of civilization. Yet in these days there is an acceleration of fighting – terrorism, wars, ethnic cleansing. We live in a world of constant tension.
In the midst of all these uncertainties, Jesus can give us the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. He can lead us to find rest for our souls and hope for our future.
Jesus came into the world to take away all the things that destroy our peace. He wants to carry your burdens; He wants to lift your anxieties, He wants to take away your sins. Those things that tend to make your life miserable are the very things Jesus came to take care of. That's what He wants to do. He wants to be your shepherd. He wants to give you peace. Give Him a place in your heart.
Even when we can't find peace in the world around us, we can experience His peace in our inner world – in our hearts and in our minds.
I thank you Lord that when the world around me offers no hope, you offer me your peace
"God’s tender love and peace is what we all long for in a world so hopelessly chaotic so unstable and unsure.
It brings stability to our minds and calmness to our souls, for that is what we desperately need.
God bless you richly!!
